Aura Gonzalez
My name is Aura Gonzalez and I am a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Government at Cornell University. My primary subfield concentration is in comparative politics. My research interests include climate change and environmental politics, identity, migration, and the political economy of housing. I am currently a visiting graduate student at the University of California San Diego.
My research has received the Pi Sigma Alpha Best Paper by a Graduate Student Award from the Midwest Political Science Association, and my dissertation studies are funded by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Prior to Cornell, I worked as a research assistant at Columbia University and the University of California San Diego.
I received my BA in international studies: political science and music: violin performance in 2020 from the University of California San Diego, and earned AA degrees in physics, economics, and Japanese from San Diego Mesa College in 2017.
